Yrsa in Russian
The Russian publishing house AST has purchased the rights to Yrsa Sigurðardóttir‘s first two novels, Last Rituals and My Soul to Take. AST is the largest publishing house in Russia and publishes some of the most popular authors in the world. Yrsa Sigurðardóttir will thus be joining writers such as Dan Brown, Stephanie Meyer, Chuck Palahniuk and John Grisham.
My Soul to Take was published earlier this year in Britain to critical acclaim and great enthusiasm from fans of crime literature. Yrsa‘s publisher in Britain, Hodder & Stoughton, has reacted to her success, ensuring the rights to her next two novels Auðnin/The Wasteland and Aska/Ash.
Last Rituals will soon also be made available in Arabic, because the Egyptian publisher Arabesque Publishing Press bought the translation rights last spring.
A new novel by Yrsa is expected to be published in Iceland before Christmas.
